Air Fried Plantains
Hello Food Lovers,
Welcome to another episode! In this episode, I’m sharing with you how I make Plantains in the Air Fryer or Air Fried Plantains. Not only is it easy but also healthier. If you love fried plantains, you know they’re greasy but we love them anyway. However, we have to go with a healthier alternative sometimes.
These air fried plantains can be served with baked chicken thighs, my versatile fried chicken, beef, athieké or simply as a snack. Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
- 2 Plantains
- 3 tbsp of Olive Oil
- Salt (optional)
Notes: 2 plantains can fit in one layer in my Air Fryer. The specific Air Fryer I use is here. I’m using a bigger size Air Fryer because I prefer cooking bigger bashes.
Now let’s get cooking!
Steps:
Step 1
Firstly, peel the plantains and cut in the in any shape you like.
Notes: I like to cut mine in an angle like the plantains in the picture
Secondly, salt the plantains. The salt is optional. The plantains are sweet on their own, but I like the sweet and salty combo.
Lastly, drizzle the olive oil on the plantains. Coat all the plantains with the olive oil.
Step 2
Preheat the air fryer for five minutes at 395 F.
Next, place the plantains in a single layer and set the Air Fryer at 395 for 12 minutes.
Flip the plantains over halfway through the cooking process, which is about 6 to 7 minutes.
After 12 minutes, the plantains should be ready.
Notes: You can poke the air fried plantains using a knife to check the doneness. Also, the color depends on your personal preference. If you prefer more color to them, you can add one more minute at 395. Generally, they’re done in 12 minutes for me.
